David A. Norris finds his artistic inspiration in Wilmington from the area’s
history and natural beauty. He is currently working on several series of drawings and
watercolors of Airlie Gardens, Masonboro Inlet, downtown Wilmington, and other local
places. Working in several different media, David switches between ink and watercolor
using bamboo brushes; pen and ink; color pencils; silverpoint (drawing with a piece of
silver wire on a gesso ground); and mixed media. He finds that working in different
