It is Spring - at last! Long have we waited for this beautiful sunshine and pollen! Around here it is getting on to Azalea Festival time - which means your favorite bookstore goes on vacation next weekend. At least two of us will be out riding bicycles and enjoying spring time. Do you know that we are a very bicycle friendly bookstore?

A great book I can't wait to sell!

I get asked to read people's books all the time, it's just part of owning a bookstore. At a neighborhood meeting a few weeks ago one of my favorite neighbors, Rich Leder, an accomplished screen writer, mentioned he had a novel. Would I read it? Sure, I’d love to, but it might take a while, I have a lot on my plate.

"Great, I'll bring it by the store," he responded.

Sometimes that proverbial "silver lining" can be true. When our building got condemned and we had to move, one of the many unexpected opportunities to come from the situation was the opportunity to ask the question, "What DO we want the bookstore to look like?" When we bought the business from Mr. D it was firmly entrenched in the 22 N. Front location. Outside of streamlining some of the shelving we didn't really change much. But when we began looking for a new location we began asking ourselves if we could have anything, what would it be?
